Creating Chat Channels

Chat Channels give leaders a simple way to start public or private conversations around a topic. Community Admins & Leaders can create new channels directly in the Called app and web products.

To create a private chat channel:

1. Within chat, select the pencil create option
2. Select "Channel"
3. Select the community or group you want to add a channel to
4. Select "Private"
5. Add the channel name
6. Select the individuals you want added to the private channel 
7. Select "Create"

Once you create, all members selected are automatically added to that private channel.

To create a public chat channel:

1. Within chat, select the pencil create option
2. Select "Channel"
3. Select the community or group you want to add a channel to
4. Select "Public"
5. Add the channel name
6. Select "Create"

Once you create, all members will be able to discover that channel and automatically join.
